NEW! Rhythm Works
Gr. K – 4: Tue. 5:30-6:15pm
Gr. 5 – 8: Tue. 6:15-7pm
Studio 691 School of Dance at the Wyckoff YMCA plans to expand their offerings through a Rhythm and Dance Program designed for individuals with learning differences and other special needs that focuses on skill development and self-empowerment.
• Improve gross and fine motor skills, body awareness and control, social skills, focus, memory and recall, expressive language, and coordination through hip hop movement.
• Rhythm Works Integrative Dance is a clinically based hip hop dance program that utilizes sensory processing, kinesiology, and behavioral analysis as a foundation to build customizable classes for the students.
• Emerging research is showing that movement, music, and rhythm, when combined, light up the brain in ways that create new neuropathways. Dance is a powerful modality that offers an opportunity to build social, emotional, cognitive, and motor skills….plus it’s tons of fun!
