Work with high school aged Teen Leaders Club and focus on community service. Build self-confidence and social responsibility during your formative middle school years. Jr. Leaders Registration Form must be completed and a Teen Extreme or Family Membership is required. Registration fee is $100 per year and includes t-shirt, snacks, and specially priced trips.
Gr. 9 – 12 / Thu. 7:30-9pm
Become a positive influence in your community! Participate in team building activities, overnight retreats, and exciting weekend events. Teen Leaders Registration Form must be completed and a Teen Extreme or Family Membership is required. Registration fee is $100 per year and includes t-shirt, snacks, and specially priced trips.
This is offered to all Teen Leaders if they would like to earn more community service hours. If you are interested please see Jess for form. This is your chance to show fellow teens your leadership skills.

An Initiative for 8th Grade Students
At a time when we are all living life in the fast lane, the Y takes a moment for your seventh or eighth grader to connect. At THE BRIDGE, the Y is committed to helping your child get ready for high school and the formative years ahead. In five jam-packed sessions, students will be empowered to make good choices, be armed with tools to keep them grounded, and be given the authority to knock down personal barriers and stay on track. This program, facilitated by the leading directors of the Y and professionals from our community, is sure to make a difference in the way your child will approach difficult decisions that may lie ahead.

SESSION #1 – Wednesday, May 3
The Bridge empowers each participant to view a “snapshot” of themselves – identifying their own eating habits in a “Chopped” Challenge, recognizing their commitments and responsibilities in a fun game of Pictionary, and take note of their bodies in action during a fun physical activity.
SESSION #2 – Wednesday, May 10
The Bridge kicks off the second session with a fun BBQ and a myriad of games to choose from. A panel consisting of community leader’s help participants identify overcommitting, time management, and how much is too much?
SESSION #3 – Wednesday, May 17
“Smart Phone Society”
The Bridge connects students and their parents about growing up in the digital age. This session will address dependence, overuse, connection with colleges, and more. The Bridge is a great forum to discuss this cutting edge, relevant topic.
SESSION #4 – Wednesday, May 24
“LET’S GET REAL”
The Bridge unwraps the life-changing reality and effect of substance abuse when a guest speaker, Stephen Hill, visits to tell his personal story of drug abuse and recovery.
SESSION #5 – Wednesday, May 31
“THE ROAD AHEAD”
The Bridge concludes its program with graduates of last year’s program and a panel of high schoolers to highlight the transition to high school and what could be expected. Special Guest Justin Macaluso shares the impact of losing his brother and his coping techniques. Participants receive a certification of completion in an informal ceremony including parents.

“Leaders in Training” is designed for Teens (15 yrs. & Up) who are interested in developing leadership skills, participating in team building activities, and working with children. Improve your communication and social skills, be a positive role model for campers, and enjoy all your favorite camp activities.
