Lessons geared to improve reading fluency
with comprehension include sight word
vocabulary, phonics basics and sounding it
out strategies. We will read, discuss and write
about award winning books matched to the
interests of the class.
Second Grade
High quality literature will be used as a base
for a writer’s workshop. Fun, motivating projects
will inspire and improve young readers.

visual and perceptual, cultural and socioemotional,
special physical or emotional challenges

Parents will be provided with progress
reports. Tutoring is available on a one on one

An intermediate level basketball class
focusing on the fundamental skills of
dribbling, passing, and shooting with
an emphasis on sportsmanship and
team play as we learn to incorporate
the basic skills into the game.

skills and work on the balance

children to develop their swim abilities.

important life lessons of respect, discipline,
and self-control.

Gmerek, will introduce forehand and
backhand strokes to the beginning tennis
player. Meet at the Y at 4:15pm
and be transported to Brookside Tennis
and Racquet Club. Pick-up will be
back at the YMCA at 5:45pm.

further develop their strokes as we work
on integrating court movement and
proper body positioning into your forehand,
backhand, and volleys. Meet at
the Y at 4:15pm and be transported to
Brookside Tennis and Racquet Club.
