David Rohde a two-time Pulitzer
Prize winner, was kidnapped by the
Taliban in 2008 outside Kabul. He
made a brazen and widely reported
escape in June, 2009. His five-part
series on his captivity gained him this
year’s prestigious George Polk Award
for international reporting. This
event is being co-sponsored by the Y
and the North Jersey Chapter of the
American Red Cross. It will be held
in the Carl Pfeifer Performing Arts
Center. Admission is free.

The Buddy Walk brings together all
kinds of families with the goal of
raising awareness and inclusion for
those with Down syndrome. One
mile family walk, games, family activities,
delicious food, music and our
terrific raffle and silent auction.

on brats and beer while getting’ down
to the area’s favorite party band, “The
Nerds!” Tickets: $40, includes brats

Walk the Red Carpet! Compete in
our first-ever “Y-Idol” singing
competition! Auditions throughout
the week with final judging event
culminating on Saturday afternoon.
Make an appearance with the whole
family for rides, games, food and free
classes all day long!
