Lifeguard Training

Ages 15 and Up

Lifeguard training courses are for candidates interested in working at a pool. All candidates must be at least 15 years old at the start of the class and have strong swimming skills (able to swim freestyle and breaststroke).

All candidates are required to pass a pre-test prior to registering for lifeguard training. The pre-test consists of a 300 yard swim performing both freestyle and breaststroke along with a timed 10-lb brick retrieval exercise. Candidates must bring identification documents to pre-test for proof of age. A $5 fee (exact change please) will be charged at the pre-test.

Registration must be accepted at the main Front Desk. Participant must submit “passed” pre-test certificate to register. Class size is limited based on Red Cross guidelines.

Full Member: $250     Program/Non-Member: $300

Re-Certification Classes:

March 24 and March 31

These courses are for individuals who need to renew their soon-to-expire certification or their certification that has expired within 2 months from the class ending date.    The certification must be presented to Bryan McDonnell either in person or electronically before registration for the course.  A pre-test must also be completed before enrolling.
