GIRL POWER: “COMPASSIONATE LEADERSHIP”

Tue., APRIL 2, from 6-7:30pm

Inspirational program for girls to learn how to be their own best friend and show compassion to themselves in order to become good leaders to others. Girls learn how that they can use their power for social good instead of trying to away power from other girls. Opening dialogue, empowerment skits.

Objective: 

  • Highlight personal experiences of compassion and leadership
  • Reinforce a positive model of girl leadership
  • Discourage female competition that degrades and separates girls
  • Encourage self-love and self-compassion
  • Exemplify compassion for other girls and all

GIRL POWER: “SHEROES THROUGH HISTORY”

Tue., APRIL 30, from 6-7:30pm

Inspirational program that offers stories of famous women and girls all over the world- from suffragettes, boxers, painters, scientists, directors, and more! The scope of female representation in STEM, the humanities, politics, and sports of past and present day will be covered. Dialogue, group activity, and art project. 

Objective: 

  • Expose students to young girls and women who are positive role models and are known in history for a rich diversity of talents and skills.
  • Recognize that girls and women have made history through their accomplishments for centuries and that women are equally and capable and competent as their male counterparts. 
  • Inspire girls to think about their own talents and what they can contribute to the world.
