ABOUT THE EVENT:

“Wyckoff Y Cares is a chartable fund established in memory of Michael O’Shea and Pietro Maugeri, two individuals who exemplified selfless commitment to those in need, and were dedicated to strengthening their communities.

The mission of “Wyckoff Y Cares” is to provide assistance in meeting the needs of those who are facing adversity and hardship within our community.

Because of your Support...

  • The 21+ Program has grown over 30% and has been able to offer more engaging opportunities to the Clients.
  • Twice a week our Participants are able to travel to Christian Health Care Center where they volunteer their time playing games with the residents and helping support the CHCC Staff with their jobs.
  • Our Participants enjoyed trips to the U.S. Open, the Liberty Science Center, Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Buehler Challenger and Science Center, shopping at Woodbury Commons, and even a private of the NY Post. They have gone to the movies, ate at great restaurants, played at Superdome Sports, bowled in Oakland, took hand-on classes at local Nature Centers and so much more!
  • They grow each day by attending classes in art, computers, fitness, nutrition, social skills, and cooking. The Team has been able to add a popular book club, and a finance/budgeting class to their offerings.
  • Continue daily transport to the Y for Swim Lessons, Personal Partners (one-on-one) fitness, tennis, Zumba, yoga, work projects, and run the very popular Cafe 21+ On the Go every Wednesday, which offers healthy snacks and drinks to the Y Staff and Members.
  • Allow the Y to provide over 12 shadows for children who otherwise would not be able to have the Camp Wydaca experience. These shadows enable these campers the opportunity to thrive all summer long.

Your continued support is critical to our Program. The funds raised on the courts greatly enhances the quality of life for our 21+, Shining Star, and the Shadow Program.
