Get in touch with your core and pelvic floor muscles to improve function and control. Learn exercises you can do to improve pelvic floor strength and awareness.

NEW! Restorative Yoga Teacher Training & Immersion

JAN. 11, JAN. 12, and FEB. 1, 10am-3pm 

This immersion is designed for yoga teachers interested in incorporating restorative practices into their yoga classes. The nature of restorative yoga is deep healing. With a variety of props and with little muscular effort you can slowly begin to release tension. The poses are set up in a skillful way as well as the transition in and out of poses. Weave elements of relaxation using Mudra, Yoga Nidra, the Chakra System, Anatomy and the Sound healing using Tibetan singing bowls. CEUs available for teachers who have a Yoga Alliance 200/500 Certification.

Improve Strength, Balance, Bone Density

Bone Up is a new program to be launched at the FLCC and the YMCA this Fall. This info-session will give you the education and the particulars of the program. Bone up is Fitness for your bone health. Vital at every age for healthy bones, exercise is the key for treating and preventing osteoporosis. Not only can exercise improve your bone health, it can increase muscle strength, coordination and balance.

At The Franklin Lakes Community Center

Tuesdays & Thursdays 7am, 12pm, 1pm, or 7pm

Wednesdays & Fridays at 7:30am

Sundays at 11am

Classes begin October 1

Member: $20 per session 

Non-Member: $35 per session

*Waiver must be completed by doctor for those diagnosed with osteoporosis.

Arthritis Class

Sess. III/IV: Mon. 12:15-1pm

A low-intensity workout designed for those with arthritis or other joint challenges; exercises utilizing light weights and dynabands that are recommended by The National Arthritis Foundation.

Active Solutions to Strengthen Individual Specific Tendencies

Sess. III/IV: Wed. 1:30-2:15pm

Recommended for those with Parkinson's, Muscular Dystrophy, and anyone with limited mobility. Includes weight training, balance and gait exercises, along with gentle aerobics.

NEW! Titleist Performance Institute Golf Conditioning

Sess. III/IV: Mon. 10-11am

“Train like Tiger!” This 8 week Titleist Performance Institute Golf fitness group class focuses on teaching players to understand the different facets of golf fitness including posture, alignment, and body position while training core strength, balance, flexibility, power, and endurance.

Hatha Yoga for Healthy Bones

Sess. III/IV: Wed. 11:30am-12:30pm, Lakehouse

Instructor: Nancy Nehama, RN, BSN, RYT - Learn about the “Do’s and Don’ts” of safely strengthening, lengthening, and building muscle and bone through yoga. Focus is on alignment to stimulate bones and the suggested guidelines for those with osteoporosis.

Tai Chi

Sess. III/IV: Mon. 9-10am, Wed.7-8pm, Sat. 10-11am, Lakehouse

Instructor: James Jan - The ancient art of Tai Chi may be an ideal form of exercise for people to reduce stress. Feel relaxed after practicing the slow stretching, breathing, and gentle movement it creates. No experience necessary.

NEW! Chakra Balancing 

Sess. III: Tue. 11:30am-12:30pm, Lakehouse

Instructor: MaryAnn Gebhardt - The Chakra system is often referred to as the vortex of energy within the body. Each class begins with a discussion of the 7 Chakras and explores ways to balance and harmonize through specific yoga poses, color, and sound. Each Chakra has its own sound and you learn 7 mantras along with harmonizing sounds of the Himalayan singing bowls. Leave relaxed with practical tips on balancing the energy flow for daily practice.

Instructor: MaryAnn Gebhardt - Ayurveda is a system of knowledge of daily and seasonal routines. Ayurveda is a way to harmonize with nature and reach our highest potential of balance. This 8 week series weaves the elements of Ayurveda for spring through yoga movements, discussion, and relaxation.
