Greetings from the bustling Performing Arts Office!
As we gear up for our Y Arts Teens production of The Little Mermaid (May 16-18) we are left awestruck by the StevieMac Concert we hosted on April 25. Three hundred audience members did a double-take listening to the awesome Diane Lutz (aka “Stevie Nicks”) who turned back time and dazzled us all. Our Y Arts Kids are buzzing, preparing for their June production of Moana Jr., and our hard-working Preschoolers are “Out of This World” as they prepare for their Spring Concert on the Y’s stage singing all about planets.
With all this in the works and more…it’s safe to say we are the department that never sleeps!

…A Tribute to Sondheim!
On April 11, the Theatre Department produced its very own in-house cabaret-style musical! In a newly designed format, the Y Arts Adults presented A Tribute to Sondheim which featured professional and semi-professional singers from our area. They sang the greatest music from one of the greatest composers, Stephen Sondheim.
Most notably, former Y Arts Kids (now young adults!) Gillian Parker and Olivia Fornasieri took the stage and wowed audiences with their beautiful solo performances and ensemble work. Bravissima!
Pre-K & TK Performing Arts Showcase
Happily Ever After
The Wyckoff YMCA’s Pre-K and TK students from all 3 of the Wyckoff YMCA Learning Centers took the stage in their annual Performing Arts Showcase. This year’s presentation, “Happily Ever After” featured fairytale adaptations of the classics (Three Little Pigs, Jack and the Beanstalk, and more!) along with songs & dances that highlighted the lessons of each fairytale (ie. Take Your Time, Be Kind, and more!).
Over 80 four and five-year-olds performed in front of an audience of 300 people! All of them in the spotlight, speaking into a microphone, acting out stories, and singing songs with confidence and enthusiasm. To say that the Y’s mission of bringing Arts Education to all populations of our community - especially the children we nurture each day - was at the forefront of our programming this month is an understatement. WE ARE SO PROUD!
