THE "NOTE"-WORTHY NEWSLETTER - JUNE
2026 ANNUAL CAMPAIGN
The Annual Campaign, held each year in the first quarter, is the Y’s general appeal to the Community-At-Large. Primarily to support our philanthropic work, your financial support assists the Y in responding to the ongoing requests for help we receive daily. Your Membership Dues and Program Fees go toward covering the Y’s operating expenses, but your donations for the Campaign go toward helping your neighbors stay healthy and well. Connected by a shared vision, Staff at all levels work with one another to engage committed Volunteers, YMCA Members, and Donors to make a lasting impact on the communities served by our Y.

Greetings from the bustling Performing Arts Office!
As the school year winds down, the Performing Arts office winds up with several end of the year performances! Preschool students will sing their patriotic hearts out in the beginning of June when they perform “Red, White, and Blue - A Concert For You!” And Pre-K is focused in rehearsals for their graduation; they’re “Movin’ Up to Kindergarten!” Y Arts Kids will swim their way on stage when they perform Finding Nemo June 20, and our Shining Star’s will cap the year as “Revolutionary Rockstars”, a medley commemorating America’s 250th Birthday. We will be sailing into summer with fireworks!
With Gratitude,
Laura and the Music & Theatre Team

Singer Spotlight: Y Arts Teens!
…Y Arts Teens! In their first cabaret-style performance, the Y Arts Teens performed on the Y’s stage on Sat., May 9. Fifteen middle school & high schoolers engaged family and friends in an entertaining afternoon which highlighted songs from many different Broadway Shows of yesterday and today. Showstoppers included “Magic To Do” from Pippin, “Matchmaker” from Fiddler on the Roof and “You Can’t Stop the Beat” from Hairspray. In this new format, which plans to continue into next year’s performance season, performers get to play a variety of roles from a variety of musicals. We are excited to broaden the Broadway knowledge of each student, and bring a fun genre to the Y’s stage to be enjoyed by audiences of all ages.
Shout Out: Claire K.
Congratulations to Y Arts Alum, CLAIRE KWON! Claire is a former performer who grew roots at the Y when she was exposed to the performing arts in our program back in elementary school. After graduating Northwestern University a few years ago, Claire hit the ground running as a professional performer! This past month, she starred in the Broadway smash hit “Maybe Happy Ending”. She will then take to the road playing the lead role in the production’s North American Tour. We couldn’t be prouder to be an integral part of Claire’s passion and professional journey, and look forward to seeing where her bright future leads.
