2026 Camp Wydaca - Camp Closures:

Closing Policy and Procedures:

We work very hard to ensure that our days here are jam-packed with a myriad of activities for the Campers to enjoy!  Being that we are an outdoor camp primarily, our intent is always to open camp every day.  Please be assured that we are doing our very best on behalf of all of the Y Camp Families.  The safety and wellbeing of the children is always our number one priority. 

Camp Wydaca makes every effort to hold Camp on Rainy Days or Extreme Heat.  The grounds are populated with tents and activities are planned in advance to keep the Children engaged.  We can accommodate indoor rotations but cannot house the camp as a whole indoors for the entire camp day.

Closures/Delays 

  • In the event of extreme weather conditions or any emergency closing, we may need to delay the start of camp or cancel camp. These decisions will be made by 6am and posted on the YMCA Camp Homepage.  

Early Dismissal

  • In the event of extreme weather conditions or any emergency closing during the camp day, we may need to dismiss the Campers early. You will be notified by 12pm of the Early Dismissal posted on the YMCA Camp Homepage.   

Credits

  • If your camper experiences 1 or more closures in June, 3 or more closures in July, or 3 or more in August, you will receive a one-day online credit.

Indoor Traffic Pattern:

All Corral Campers: DROP OFF

All Campers will be moved indoors to the upper level of the Y building to be dropped off to the Gymnasium Door Entrance.

  • Drop Off for all Campers will be moved to the Gymnasium Door Entrance (Door #3).
  • Please enter Wyckoff Ave entrance. 
  • Please proceed straight around the Y building to drop off Camper.  A Counselor will pick up your Camper from your car. 
  • To exit, please proceed to Spring Meadow Drive or Charles Avenue.

All Corral Campers: PICK UP

All Campers will be moved indoors to the upper level of the Y building to be dismissed from the Gymnasium Door Entrance.

  • Pick up for all Campers will be moved to the Gymnasium Door Entrance (Door #3).
  • Please enter Wyckoff Ave entrance. 
  • Please proceed straight around the Y building to pick up Camper.  A Counselor will bring your Camper to your car. 
  • To exit, please proceed to Spring Meadow Drive or Charles Avenue.
