Where can you make a Gift to?

GENERAL YMCA FUND

(Category #1) Annual Campaign

What is it and what does it do…

The Annual Campaign, held each year in the second quarter, is the Y’s general appeal to the Community-At-Large. Primarily to support our philanthropic work, your financial support assists the Y in responding to the ongoing requests for help we receive daily.  Your Membership Dues and Program Fees go toward covering the Y’s operating expenses, but your donations for the Campaign go toward helping your neighbors stay healthy and well. Connected by a shared vision, Staff at all levels work with one another to engage committed Volunteers, YMCA Members, and Donors to make a lasting impact on the communities served by our Y.

(Category #2) The Endowment

What is it and what does it do…

The newly formed Endowment Fund offers an opportunity for Donors to support the Wyckoff YMCA Mission into perpetuity, realizing the value of their gift will be restricted for the future needs of the YMCA Mission. Not knowing what the future holds, the creation of this Fund addresses that uncertainty.

(Category #3) Support the Arts

What is it and what does it do…

Where would we be without the Performing and Visual Arts at the Y? Because of YOU, our Members, and your belief in the Arts as a vital part of Community Life, you have helped enrich and enlighten the lives of both Children and Adults alike. Your support and donations go towards helping to underwrite the Wyckoff Family YMCA’s Performance-based programs.

(Category #4) The Employee Giving

What is it and what does it do…

The Employee Giving Fund is sponsored and supported by the hundreds of Employees who are part of the YMCA Family. Their effort signifies the relationship that exists between Members and Staff and the partnership that creates “A Community Like No Other.”

WYCKOFF Y CARES FUND - Scholarships & Financial Assistance

(Category #1) Special Needs Outreach

What is it and what does it do…

The essence of the Special Needs Outreach is to underscore the Wyckoff YMCA’s unyielding support of the Special Needs Community. For over thirty years, the YMCA has been a front runner in establishing vital resources for individuals and families within that Community; to include Billy’s Buddies, Shining Star Express, and 21 Plus, a stand-alone community for individuals ages 21 and over. Applications are required and reviewed by the Financial Assistance Committee.

(Category #2) Mike O’Shea Charitable Outreach

What is it and what does it do…

The Mike O’Shea Charitable Outreach is a unique opportunity for Donors to support their fellow neighbors who are facing a critical juncture in their lives; whether it’s assisting those recovering from cancer, other serious illness, or any other debilitating loss. Through this Outreach, the Wyckoff YMCA is able to cover medical expenses, assist with mortgage payments, and other ongoing financial obligations.

The Fund also addresses:

  • The ongoing needs of our Members with Special Needs...a 30+ year Commitment
  • The Wyckoff Y’s expansion of it’s Veterans’ Programs and Workshops
  • The support of the many Volunteers within our Community (i.e. Firefighters, Law Enforcement)
  • Emergency Management Services and the EMT’s who protect us
  • Applications are required and reviewed by the Financial Assistance Committee.

(Category #3) Community Outreach

What is it and what does it do…

The Community Outreach is based on the ongoing ever-changing needs and requests that exist within our Community. A variety of fundraisers held throughout the year to go towards those specific needs and requests. For example, for over 15 years the Wyckoff YMCA has invited the children of Oasis, a haven for Women and Children in Paterson, NJ to be a part of the Summer Camp Wydaca Community at no charge. Applications are required and reviewed by the Financial Assistance Committee.

Thank you for your trust in us and our commitment to the community we serve.
