BASEBALL/SOFTBALL:
Baseball/Softball 2
Gr. 3 – 5: Wed. 5-6pm
Session I & Session IV
Focus on more advanced throwing and catching techniques. Emphasis on catching fly balls, catching balls off the bat, infield and outfield practice, and advanced base running. Each class is designed to gradually develop even more physical skills and baseball knowledge.

BASKETBALL:
Basketball 2
Gr. 3 – 5: Wed. 6-7pm
Session I/II & Session III/IV
Reach the next level and refine the techniques of ball handling, passing, and shooting. Games are played to enhance the skills learned from each class. Prepare your Child for our leagues and off-season training programs.

NEW! Middle School Open Play Basketball
Gr. 6 – 8: Wed. 7-8pm
Session I/II & Session III/IV
Players will split up into teams weekly and scrimmage against each other. Sportsmanship and teamwork is “a must.” Designed for players to enhance their basketball IQ. Advanced players refine their shooting, passing, and game skills.

Travel Basketball Program
The YMCA’s Travel Basketball Team strives to elevate skills, promote teamwork, and develop the player as well as the individual. The program is structured to be free of parent coaching, excessive expense, and distant travel. We stress dedication and hard work in a balanced environment while trying to accommodate your family’s schedule as much as possible.
TRAVEL TRYOUTS: GR. 3 - 8
Boys: OCTOBER 16 from 4-5pm
Girls: OCTOBER 16 from 5-6pm
MAKEUP TRYOUTS - Boys/Girls: OCTOBER 23 from 4-5pm

Learn important athletic and social skills along with staying active and building self-confidence. Players learn the basic rules and skills to play in a game setting. This sport is growing in all High Schools around the area.

GOLF:
Outdoor Golf 2
Gr. 3 - 5: Mon. 4-5pm
Session I & Session IV
The perfect introduction to golf or an opportunity to enhance your skill set. Players learn the proper way to hold different clubs, proper putting stances, and complete a full swing. Athletes play a variety of games to work on their golf course acumen.

Indoor Golf
Gr. K - 5: Wed. 4-5pm

Don’t let the weather slow you down. Our indoor golf class is designed to keep your swing loose in the off season as well as introduce you to the game. Whether you are new to the sport or just looking to keep the ball rolling, this class is perfect for you.

GYMNASTICS:
NEW! Gymnastics 2
Gr. 3 - 5: Mon. 6-7pm
Session I-II & Session III-IV
Designed for Intermediate and Advanced gymnasts, this class allows students to perfect their basic skills and enhance their technique. Gymnasts work on all equipment to learn advanced practices, as well as perfect their floor work and tumbling. Participants choreograph and perform a gymnastics routine at the end of the session!

PICKLEBALL:
Jr. Pickleball
Gr. 3 – 6: Tue. 6-7pm
Session I/II & Session III/IV
Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Focus on developing basic skills and implementing them into game situations. Skills such as ball control, forehand and backhand drive, drive and lob serve, forehand and back hand lob, smash, and strategy are taught. Juniors are introduced to rules, scoring, and fitness including flexibility and muscular strength.

Private Training Available in ALL Sports:

SOCCER:
Soccer 2

Learn to skillfully perform some of the more difficult moves in soccer; advanced dribbling skills as well as striking the ball effectively to score goals.

Gr. 2 – 4: Mon. 4:45-5:30pm
Session I-II & Session III-IV
Focus on movement technique including kicking and punching along with life skills such as self control, goal setting, and positivity.

TENNIS:
Participate in peer throwing, catching, and hitting rallies. Develop hand-eye coordination, footwork, and basic tennis strokes through a variety of hitting and catching activities.

Volleyball 2 utilizes a variety of active games and tools to teach basic volleyball techniques including passing, setting, hitting, serving, blocking, tipping, and diving. Footwork and technique are emphasized.

More advanced drills, skill work, game play, and game situations are the focus. This class incorporates more strategy of the game, defensive drills, and court rotations.

Players will be split up into teams weekly and scrimmage. Player must have a solid understanding of the sport and be capable of handling higher level drills and skill work.

YMCA Girls Travel Volleyball Team
Travel Tryouts: October 2 from 4-5pm

The YMCA’s Travel Volleyball Team strives to elevate skills, promote teamwork, and develop the player as well as the individual. We stress dedication and hard work in a balanced environment while trying to accommodate your family’s schedule as much as possible. The YMCA’s Travel Volleyball Program focuses on player development, fast-paced, high-tempo play in which athletes learn to think and react quickly on the court and on mastering fundamentals while building more advanced techniques to prepare for higher levels of competition.
