This program is for the budding performer who is disciplined, determined, and ready to shine on stage! No audition required. Students must attend both Thursday and Saturday rehearsals each week and be available for a performance on January 24 (Aladdin Kids).

Middle School Musical Theatre Workshop

Triple threats shine in this workshop that's focus is singing, acting, and dancing in a tribute to some of your favorite modern and classic Broadway shows. Presentation at the end of the session for family and friends.

Studio 691 School of Dance provides an environment where your child thrives as a dancer and grows as a young individual with qualities including discipline, respect, responsibility, and grace. We commit to providing high level instruction at low prices all year long. The Y’s Performing Arts wing includes four dance studios where practice is perfected to perform on the Y’s in-house stage. We instill self-confidence and poise through performance.
Dedicated to building a strong foundation in the arts, Studio 691 School of Dance is a non-competition institute focused on EDUCATION and EXPOSURE to all dance forms for children and adults. Studio 691 offers distinctive dance programs that motivate students through rewarding, challenging, and energetic classes.
Developing disciplined students, concentrating on dance fundamentals, emphasizing vocabulary, exploring choreography, and positively motivating dancers to excel are the core values of the YMCA Dance Program. Classes include Ballet, Pre-Pointe, Pointe, Jazz, Modern, Tap, Irish Step, and more for ages 2 . through adult. Studio 691 focuses on individual student growth. Students who show potential for professional careers in dance are carefully prepared in our Dance Companies for high school conservatory and college acceptance.

Develop movement sequences, port de bras, and balance while learning proper extension of the legs and shape of feet. Increase core strength and flexibility.

Focus on increased stamina, lift, and improved foot placement. Designed for those who have mastered the basic technique of trebles, toes, and clicks while keeping time with the music. More complex rhythms are taught to reel, jig, and hornpipe music with added focus on foot placement, clicks, and spring with proper posture.

Take the next important step in training for those serious about dance and focused on Ballet. Continue to develop overall technique and build stretch, strength, and stamina. Dancers must be 12 years of age and enrolled in two ballet classes per week. No registration fee for dancers who meet age and class requirements.

Open to Level 3 Dancers: Required to take Jazz and Ballet technique classes. Designed to expand their knowledge, take skills to a new level, and learn fun Broadway style choreography. Jazz dance and performance are combined with opportunities to learn rehearsal techniques and develop precision dance skills. Additional ballet technique and modern classes are strongly recommended.

Increased focus on posture, stretching, and adagio work in order to improve strength and extension. Fine tuning direction on multiple pirouettes, musicality, fluidity of movement, and the intricacies of small and large jumps which are essential in continuing to improve as a ballet dancer. Faster paced class encourages dancer’s growth and ability to learn and execute choreography quickly.

Character, discipline, hard work, and technique are important attributes that Company Members possess. These dancers are challenged in their technique and pushed to the next level. A large commitment of time is required for this group. Master classes, trips, and performance opportunities are available.
Dancers are required to take one ballet class, one jazz class, and one rehearsal period in assigned levels. Pointe classes are strongly recommended.
