Give a song you love a story! Using a music track, students create a storyboard, film, edit, and publish a video with their friends in class.

Madagascar Kids
This program is for the budding performer who is disciplined, determined, and ready to shine on stage! No audition required. Students must attend both Thursday and Saturday rehearsals each week and be available for the end of session presentation.

Teen Cabaret "A Heart for the Arts"
(Performance Fri., Mar. 5) Auditions will take place at the first class. Teen Broadway Cabaret covers a wide variety of songs and scenes from popular and classic Broadway shows. A cabaret-style performance on the Y's stage showcases all participants as they perform in solo, small groups, and large ensemble numbers.

Irish Dance 2 with Intro. to Hardshoe

Evolving mastery of traditional movement concentrating on technique, proficiency, speed, and carriage, with a focus on timing and listening skills. Traditional céilí group dances are introduced. Technique for producing trebles and basic percussive rhythms are introduced and strengthened. Dance tempos include treble reels, jigs, and hornpipes along with traditional set pieces.

Understanding body awareness, opposition techniques, and pirouettes are an integral piece of this discipline. Complex movement patterns challenge the dancer’s mind and body.

Develop movement sequences, stage presence, and technique while learning proper extension of the legs and shape of the feet. Work on complex steps involving weight shifts, coordination of arms and legs, as well as turns and jumps. Increase core strength and flexibility.

Take the next important step in training for those serious about dance and focused on Ballet. Continue to develop overall technique and build stretch, strength, and stamina. Designed to expand their knowledge, take skills to a new level, and learn fun Broadway style choreography. Jazz dance and performance are combined with opportunities to learn rehearsal techniques and develop precision dance skills. Additional ballet technique and modern classes are strongly recommended.

Fine tuning direction on pirouettes, alignment, balance, footwork, and performance quality, as well as the intricacies of jumps and turns which are essential in continuing to improve as a ballet dancer.

Character, discipline, hard work, and technique are important attributes that Company Members possess. These dancers are challenged in their technique and pushed to the next level. A large commitment of time is required for this group.
Dancers are required to take two ballet classes, one jazz class, one modern class, and one rehearsal period in assigned levels. Pointe classes are strongly recommended.
