A Letter from the Directors...

Dear Friends of the Y,

It’s hard to believe that 4 years have gone by since we opened our doors at the new Franklin Lakes Community Center.  Your warm welcome and positive involvement have grown the Center into the vibrant Franklin Lakes gathering spot it has become.  Each day, hundreds of Members are engaged in a myriad of challenging programs; from a workout in the Y’s State-of-the-Art Gym, to participation in over fifty group exercise classes weekly;  to the arrival of our new cutting-edge Osteoporosis prevention program, BONE UP. Thank you for being there to support our Health and Wellness initiatives.  WE ARE HERE TO SERVE!

As 2020 fast approaches, the FLCC is excited about everything “all new” that will be offered this Winter/Spring.  Hackensack Meridian Health, the Y’s Mission Partner, will be on hand to offer workshops on Health related issues that are of concern for all of us.  “Ask the Nurse,” directed by the Nursing Staff from HUMC, will welcome Members and Residents monthly, FREE OF CHARGE, and assist in answering any health related questions. Additionally, many Parent/Child classes are being offered, fostering education in Dance, Science, and Art. Please don’t miss out on all that is to come, and we welcome your suggestions!!

But, most importantly, this brochure is about our long-lasting friendship with the Residents of Franklin Lakes.  That friendship is unique and special, growing over a long period, and standing the test of time.  We are grateful to be a part of your Community and are eager to do all we can to develop the resources and services that will benefit you.  As a charitable, 501(c)(3) organization, the YMCA’s Mission will continue to focus on Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility, but recognizing above all, that its principle priority is people, and how we can best serve them.

The  Wyckoff Family YMCA...Where PEOPLE COME FIRST!

With my Very Best Wishes for a Healthy and Happy 2020, Joy Vottero, Executive Director

Early Childhood Education at the Y...

Franklin Lakes Early Learning Center

At the Wyckoff Family YMCA, health and wellness are so much more than just fitness and sports. The Y is a connected community resource which is vital in helping all people develop in spirit, mind, and body while addressing all areas of an individual’s well-being.

Members of our Y Family discover all kinds of programs, wellness opportunities and services far beyond the realm of “day care.” In addition to the benefit of the Y’s high standards of Childhood Curriculum and Education, your child can enjoy a swim or dance lesson along with his or her classmates, take a field trip to the Police Station to learn about our community heroes, collect food for those in need during the holidays, and so much more. The Y’s emphasis on Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility carries far beyond the classroom--it pervades everything we do!

Enrolling in Y Childcare connects families to a wide web of friends, networks, and support through the Wyckoff Family YMCA community. Y families represent a diverse and inclusive collection of cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs. These differences create classrooms where acceptance develops as children learn to practice tolerance and promote equality amongst themselves.
