A creative opportunity to learn new art techniques while experiencing a wide variety of art materials. Focus on drawing, painting, collage, and three-dimensional design.

NEW! PYTHON PROGRAMMERS 

Gr. 3 & Up    Wed. 5:30-7pm

Learn the world’s fastest growing programming language favored by Google, NASA, Youtube, and the CIA. Code with Python to create engaging apps and games. Each lesson takes you step-by-step on a programming path that lets you challenge friends with fun content you create from start to finish! Students work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

BABYSITTING COURSE 

Gr. 5 – 8    Mon. 6-7pm, Wed. 4:30-5:30pm

Train with an American Red Cross Certified Instructor to build confidence in handling an emergency situation to make you a more successful babysitter. Basic care, safety tips, safe play, and first aid are among the numerous topics discussed.

THE CHEF'S TABLE: 

CHOPPED 

Gr. 3 & Up Tue. 5:30-7pm

Just like Food Network’s Popular Show, this class is meant to challenge “chefs” to think on their feet! Each class starts with an introduction to the secret ingredients and a review of the recipe. Students create a version of that dish, while being guided to do their very best to make a delicious and edible product they can feel proud of...now that’s a winning recipe!

NEW! TEENS TO COOK 

Gr. 6 & Up   Thu. 5:30-6:45pm

In today’s fast paced society, the benefits of eating in can improve your health and increase your budget. Teaching teens to cook can help your households now, and them later post high school graduation. In this weekly class, master knife skills, practice meal planning, easy prep ideas, learn how to follow a recipe and cut it down to make for one or two people. Chef Angie starts with the incredible egg and ensures they can make a delicious salad before the session is complete. Chefs strive to make the most of fresh ingredients as well as pantry staples. Problem solving at its core can come from baking, so expect to dabble in making a dessert or two! Sign them up! It’s time for...”Teens to Cook!”

THE GYMNAST CLUB:

We’re Flipping Out!

The Wyckoff YMCA offers a Progressive Gymnastics Program where children develop and continually improve their strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. Our Club focuses on self-confidence through movement and strength skills on the tumbling mats and apparatus. Reach new heights on the high beams and uneven bars to perfect your skills!

THE SEWING NOOK:

IT’S SEW FUN: Level 1 

Gr. 3 & Up   Wed. 5-6pm Thu. 6-7pm

Focus is on a comprehensive understanding of sewing techniques and skills. Develop motor skills and hand-eye coordination by tracing patterns and cutting out pieces for projects using a variety of fabrics while gaining proficiency on the sewing machine. Basic fitting techniques and project assembly skills are taught.

SEW MUCH MORE: Level 2 

Gr. 3 & Up   Thu. 5-6pm 

Prerequisite: It's Sew Fun

Refine skills in pattern reading, fitting, and sewing machine operation, and create more detailed garments using a wider range of fabrics. Learn how to insert zippers, make button holes, and gain confidence and independence in sewing abilities!

SEW YOUR OWN PROJECT

Prerequisite: It’s Sew Fun and Sew Much More 

Advanced Sewing Students: Purchase a pattern, fabric, and all supplies and be guided through the project from start to finish.

GIRL SCOUT BADGE OPPORTUNITIES 

The YMCA offers one day class options for troops across the area. We tailor the program to fit your needs - Cooking, Gymnastics, Dance, Art, Sewing, and more…we even offer CPR and First Aid Certifications!

 

TUTORING LESSONS 

Private Tutoring Lessons available in Math, Science, Reading, Writing, and Homework Help. Each session is customized to your child and their learning needs.

FITNESS CLUB 

Wed. 4-5pm 

Improve cardiovascular endurance, while strengthening the body with group fitness and sport-related skill games. Work on listening and directional skills while developing group interaction and teamwork.

MULTI MEDIA ART CLASS 

Wed. 5-6:15pm 

Learn basic color and composition through introductory art techniques in clay, collage, painting and drawing. Artists create individual and group work. An art exhibition is held during our annual show.

CREATION AND INNOVATION 

Wed. 5-6:15pm 

Learn all about technology and how to use common household items to build masterpieces! Members use hands-on materials to create different models that challenge your mind while having a great time! Members use physical manipulatives as well as technology to build their very own creations.

SPECTRA YOGA CLASS 

Wed. 6:15-7pm 

Learn basic postures and meditative techniques to quiet the mind, strengthen the body, and uplift the spirit.
