Traditional Camp Wydaca Grade 3 - 5: 

Offered: Week 1:  (June 22-26) through Week 9: (August 17-21)

Full Member: $325 / per week     Program Member: $360 / per week

Ideal for the campers who are journeying through Elementary School, and preparing for Middle School. Third through Fifth Grade Camps are challenged with more advanced Art projects and Science experiments, as well as music, dance, swim, and sports. Community service outreach is planned as part of the curriculum, stressing the importance of their role in the Community, as well as visits from those in our neighborhood who keep us safe.


Add On Tennis - $145 per week 

Offered: Week 1:  (June 22-26) through Week 9: (August 17-21)

Extended day with a 5:15pm pick up. Right after Camp, enjoy a 90-minute Tennis Lesson at the Franklin Lakes Racquet Club (round trip transportation provided). Players are grouped according to ability to ensure a high level of achievement. 1 1/2 hr. Tennis Lesson LATE PICK UP at 5:15pm.


Before Camp Care: $60 per week 

Offered: Week 1:  (June 22-26) - Week 9: (August 17-21)

The Before Camp Care Program starts at 7:30am. Campers will enjoy games, coloring, and table top activities before they are walked to their camp group at 8:45am.

The After Camp Care Program ends at 6pm. We are looking forward with great excitement to an enjoyable summer in the AFTER CAMP CARE PROGRAM! Our Program is designed to provide an ideal curriculum for “the after camp day” offering just enough activities combined with relaxation as a compliment to all of “the fun in the sun”. 

The “After Camp Care Life” Includes:

"Chilling" out in the AC, kitchen time, game day challenges, creative art exploration, gym time, community service opportunities, and special event days.

Gr. 3 - 5 SPECIALTY CAMPS:

BACKSTAGE CREW (GR. 3 - 5) - 2 Week Camp 

When working behind the scenes of "MARY POPPINS JR.", you complete the team of campers putting on a show. Responsibilities include set design, lighting, sound, and more! Exclusive trip to Broadway Show! (Trip Fee: $60, partial subsidy by YMCA). Daytime show for Camp Wydaca on July 17. Enjoy an evening presentation for family and friends on July 16 & 17.

Full Member: $750 / per 2 weeks   

Program Member & Non-Member: $800 / per 2 weeks

Backstage Crew Camp Offered:

  • Week 3 & Week 4 (July 6 - 17)

 

BASEBALL 

Focus on more advanced throwing and catching techniques. Emphasis on catching fly balls, catching balls off of the bat, infield and outfield practice, and advanced base running techniques.

Full Member: $375 / per week     

Program Member & Non-Member: $400 / per week

Baseball Camp Offered:

BASKETBALL 

Reach the next level and refine the techniques of ball handling, passing, and shooting. Defensive play and games are a part of this camp. Expect to play games for most of the week after skills and drills are covered.

CHEERLEADING 

Experienced high school and college cheerleaders share their passion and all of the latest moves. Campers get the opportunity to cheer for the basketball players at the end of each week for a show/game - GO TEAM!

COMPETITIVE SWIM 

Designed for the developed swimmer and the seasoned competitor. Keep in “competitive swim shape” and build endurance while improving stroke technique. Daily workouts in the pool and lake will be complimented by training videos, games, and camp activities.

CONSERVATORY  - 4 Week Camp 

PRESENTS: "MARY POPPINS JR." - In a four-week musical theatre intensive, all campers receive a role and perform on the Y's stage. Exclusive trip to Broadway Show and master class included! (Trip Fee: $60, partial subsidy by YMCA). Free swim and social time round out a full day of acting, singing, and dancing. No instructional swim lessons offered. Daytime show for Camp Wydaca on July 17. Enjoy an evening presentation for family and friends on July 16 & 17.

CULINARY 

One is never too young to cook and master lifelong skills in the kitchen such as chopping fresh herbs, peeling fruits, measuring dry/wet ingredients, stirring/mixing, and recognition of spices. All of these combined with a few great recipes lead to a seasoned little “master chef” who is sure to help at home in the kitchen!

DANCE 

Learn proper placement, alignment, balance, technique, and control. Focus is on improving strength and body positioning in barre and center work, as well as learning the vocabulary.

FLAG FOOTBALL 

Learn catching, throwing, flag pulling, as well as offensive and defensive fundamentals. The curriculum is designed around player development and teaches proper technique in a safe and high energy environment.

FLOOR HOCKEY 

Camp offers the opportunity to play hockey which combines speed, athletic ability, and sportsmanship. Develop a greater understanding of offensive and defensive play. Each child has the opportunity to learn the basics of being a goaltender.

FULL "STEAM" AHEAD 

Explore the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math through a variety of challenges that stimulate young minds toward discovering how and why things work. Problem solving, thinking creatively, and being innovative are all skills that are developed through STEAM activities.

GOLF 

Focus on the fundamentals of the full swing, putting, and chipping. All players are introduced to the game in a fun and comfortable learning environment. Instructor will be led by a Titleist Performance Institute certified instructor. Equipment will be provided

GYMNASTICS 

Campers develop and improve their strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. Reach new heights on the high beams and uneven bars to perfect your skills!

IT’S SEW FUN 

Focus is on a comprehensive understanding of sewing techniques and skills. Develop motor skills and hand-eye coordination by tracing patterns and cutting out pieces for projects using a variety of fabrics while gaining proficiency on the sewing machine. Basic fitting techniques and project assembly skills are taught.

Projects may include:

  • Week 1- A big stuffed dog bed pillow and zippered pencil case.
  • Week 2- An I-Pad/book pillow rest, braided bracelet and scrunchies

It's Sew Fun Camp Offered:

  • Week 1 (June 22-26)

LACROSSE 

Participate in active ball drills (throwing, catching, ground balls, etc.) and enhance the 1 and 2 handed cradle into lacrosse dodges (split, face, roll). Expect a higher level intensity of speed and agility along with ground ball work done with actual contact on the hands and arms. A better understanding for shot placement and location of where and when to shoot will improve players ability.

NEW! MAD SCIENTISTS 

Come experience some “Mad” science!  Engage in daily experiments that will teach campers critical thinking, how to conduct experiments, and how to  measure the results.  Exploratory activities will emphasize the  fun side of science while campers develop an appreciation of the value of science in their everyday lives.

Mad Scientists Camp Offered:

MAKE & TAKE CRAFT "BUFFET" 

Campers will have an opportunity to explore a buffet of "building" skills as they create projects to make, and then take home. Projects may include sewing a bean bag chair, designing and constructing a bird house, working with ceramics to create mosaic designs, sewing a fun pillow for your room, creating and enjoying a delicious new dessert, originating a new table top game, designing and crafting a fashion accessory and more!

Make & Take Craft Camp Camp Offered:

MARTIAL ARTS 

Develop physical abilities while connecting those lessons with a self-awareness of one’s own potential for becoming a leader. From agility ladders to kicking paddles, and from hurdles to punching targets, this blend of modern fitness equipment and traditional martial arts equipment combine to truly build students’ skills.

PAINT LIKE THE MASTERS 

Campers will create "masterpieces" in the styles of Van Gogh, Picasso, Monet, Matisse, and other famous artists using various mediums. Young artists will create projects around an overall theme with each reflecting a different masters' style.

Paint Like the Masters Camp Offered:

RUGGED RANGERS 

For kids who love adventure...a rugged but exciting camp experience. Learn basic survival skills such as pitching a tent, first aid, hiking, and rock climbing.

Rugged Rangers Camp Offered:

SETTING THE STAGE (3 Week Camp) 

Presents: "101 DALMATIANS KIDS" - The classic animated tale of kidnapping villains and courageous puppies is adapted in this “fur-tastic” musical adventure.  Campers enjoy a full day of acting, singing, and dancing. All campers perform 30 minute version of this fun show on the Y stage.  Evening performance for family and friends on August 6.

Full Member: $1,125 per 3 weeks

Setting the Stage Camp Offered:

  • Week 5, 6, & 7 (July 20 - August 7)

 

SING & DANCE (2 Week Camp) 

Work on songs, scenes, and dances from your favorite Broadway musicals. Classic fairytales come alive in a performance for family and friends on July 30, 2020.

Full Member: $750 per two weeks

Sing & Dance Camp Offered:

SOCCER 

Cover all aspects of the game through drills, skills, and game play. Practice passing, dribbling, receiving, shooting, and so much more. This camp challenges every level of play and reinforces footskills.

Participate in a variety of team sports: football, baseball, kickball, basketball, and more. Work on the basic mechanics of throwing, catching, and kicking. These activities help maintain and develop balance and body control.

SPORTS SAMPLER 

A perfect camp for children who are in search of their favorite sport. Campers learn basic skills needed to play baseball, basketball, hockey, and soccer.

NEW! TENNIS CAMP 

Enhance peer-to-peer throwing, catching, and hitting rallies utilizing compression balls. Develop hand-eye coordination and footwork through various activities. Refine basic tennis strokes through a variety of hitting drills and games. Tennis Lesson at the Franklin Lakes Racquet Club (round trip transportation provided).
